KEA publishes a deliberately broad official syllabus.

Below, the “Official KEA syllabus” blocks reproduce the KEA-published heads; the “What we drill in Practice” blocks show the practical topic breakdown our practice bank covers — a coaching elaboration of KEA's broad heads, NOT part of the official syllabus.

KEA's heads carry no question counts. For how many questions each section has actually held, see the exam pattern — that is our count of the papers, and it is labelled as ours there.

Computer Awareness

15–25 Q
Official KEA syllabus
  • Computer Basics: organization of a computer, CPU, I/O devices, memory, programming languages, types of OS, general awareness of Internet, web applications, database applications, information systems
  • Data Representation: characters, integers and fractions; Binary, ASCII, Hexadecimal
  • Binary Arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; two's complement; floating-point representation (incl. normalized)
  • Operating Systems: evolution, types, functions, modern OS
What we drill in Practice

This section is computational, not trivia: number-system conversions, binary arithmetic and two's complement dominate. Note: MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) is NOT in the official KEA syllabus — some prep portals add it, but we weight practice toward what KEA actually lists.

Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning

10–29 Q

KEA's verbatim wording: “Logical Reasoning, Puzzles, Diagrams, Analogy, verbal ability, analytical ability and related aspects.” KEA does not enumerate individual topics for this section.

What we drill in Practice
  • Logical reasoning: fact-inference-judgment, statement-argument, assumptions, conclusions
  • Puzzles & patterns: seating arrangement, blood relations, series, binary logic
  • Decision making: direction sense, clocks, calendars, input-output
  • Critical thinking: analogies, syllogisms, matrix arrangements
  • Also frequently tested: Venn diagrams, coding-decoding, classification, data sufficiency

Quantitative Analysis

  • Data Interpretation: tables, bar/pie/line charts, caselet DI, Venn diagrams, data sufficiency
  • Statistics: mean, median & mode, dispersion & standard deviation, probability

Most of GK is static (business environment, economics, management, history, entrepreneurship, business communication) — we cover it once, permanently. Current affairs is a small dated slice; what we teach is the durable scaffold behind it. Entrepreneurship and Business Communication are officially inside GK and often overlooked — we don't overlook them.
